Hello friends, thanks for stopping by Wigmore’s World.

A couple months ago I posted a blog announcing the launch of this website. The hope was that it would be a place for people to check out highlights from my career covering arts and culture for organizations like News Talk 1010, AOL, Jazz FM91, Proud FM, and CBC Radio.

I put up a few recent interviews and offered a collection of choice photos. Maybe somebody would get a kick out of hearing and viewing examples of my work?

To my surprise, I received dozens of emails, comments, and social media notes more or less expecting that wigmoresworld would now be a hub of arts coverage and a place to access new interviews with artists, cultural figures and entertainers.

That wasn’t really in my game plan, but it got me to thinking. Maybe I should make something?

It’s no secret that media organizations have been reducing or canceling arts coverage, but the last several years has seen accelerated change. Just speak with publicists for musicians or marketing staff at arts organizations. They will tell you that it’s increasingly challenging to convince well-known media outlets to help celebrate the talent they represent.

Enter “Art at the End of the World”. This new podcast will launch in late January 2019 and will feature 10 episodes for its inaugural season. The guest list is fantastic. I don’t want to give too much away, but we have a world renowned DJ, one of the best comics in the country, a new superstar from the theatre world, a legendary broadcaster and, of course, several great musicians.

The podcast will offer long-form conversation, with a focus on what it is to make art, provide comfort, and reflect society during this difficult political and cultural moment.
